Five Reasons To Buy Home Emergency Cover For Your Park Home
Everyone has their own reasons for buying home emergency cover, and here we outline some of the benefits of our specialist home emergency cover for park home owners. Please note that this policy is designed to work alongside your park home buildings and contents insurance policy and that terms and conditions apply. It does not relate to day-to-day maintenance of your park home, which remains your responsibility.
- Peace of mind
Knowing that support is just a phone call away for certain types of home emergencies, gives many of our customers the peace of mind that they need. For example, you could be faced with one or more of the following home emergencies:
- Water leaks in your park home caused by the unexpected failure of central heating pipes, the plumbing or drainage system.
- Water damage caused by the loss or damage to roofing tiles
- The breakdown of your central heating system
- Electrical failure
- Pest infestation, such as a wasps’ nest, hornets’ nest, mice, rats or cockroaches
- Easier budgeting
There is no excess to pay and no call-out charges. You are covered for up to £1,000 per claim and there are no limits to the number of claims that you can make, so you reduce the risk of unexpected expenditure. Easier budgeting is certainly one of the reasons that our customers choose to buy home emergency cover for their park homes.
- An authorised contractor is sent out to you
If you have called our emergency telephone number and your claim is accepted, then we send out an authorised contractor to complete a temporary repair (or a permanent repair in some instances if this is at a similar cost and a temporary repair is not appropriate). This means that you don’t have to find a contractor yourself and you won’t have to pay a call out charge.
- Boiler breakdown cover is included
If you’re left without heating and hot water due to the breakdown of your boiler, an authorised professional will be sent out to repair it. You could also receive £50 towards the cost of alternative heating sources, where these are deemed necessary in the event a claim has occurred. In addition, you may also receive up to £500 towards the cost of a brand new like-for-like replacement boiler. You’ll need to supply an original receipt before payment is made.
- You could stay somewhere else overnight
If you have an accepted claim for emergency repairs, the contractor is not able to resolve the emergency and your park home is deemed uninhabitable, then you will be covered for the cost of overnight accommodation up to £250. Remember, if you’re concerned for your safety, or the safety of others then call the appropriate emergency services. If you smell gas, then call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Please note that all insurance cover is subject to acceptance of terms and conditions.
